Donald P. Glaser, MD was born in Virginia; as a child of a military officer, he lived and traveled to many states and countries. He graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College and completed his medical doctorate at Temple University School of Medicine, being inducted into the national medical honorary Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, receiving advanced surgical training at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital. During his training, he researched keratoconus as well as the natural history and treatment of retinal tears and detachments.
Dr. Glaser has practiced in the Upstate since the completion of his residency training and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He practices comprehensive ophthalmology, including treatment of cataracts, glaucoma and vision correction with ICLs.
Dr. Glaser, his wife, Michelle, and their two children live in Greenville. They enjoy hiking in the Upstate, gardening, and improving their lousy golf swings. Dr. Glaser ran cross country and track in college; he and his wife enjoy a more relaxed pace of jogging now. They both enjoy music. Dr. Glaser has played piano since his preschool years. Michelle works at PRISMA and is a flutist who is learning the guitar. Their children are excellent swimmers.
