Clemson Eye News, January 2016 – A new generation of Prokera corneal bandages was approved by the FDA last fall. They incorporate human amniotic membrane, preserved through a cryopreservation process that retains the tissue’s ability to control inflammation and promote healing of the cornea. The amniotic tissue has natural therapeutic capabilities that help damaged eye surfaces heal faster.
